Discussing the hurt we face can be freeing. It can be hard to reach out to others in fear of what they may say. We may have experienced childhood wounds that make it difficult to speak of our pain. There may be events happening in our lives that currently cause our mental health to decline. It could be a mixture of many things combined that are causing distress. We are often shamed for being “too emotional” or “too sensitive”. I am here to remind you that you are not weak for having emotions. Together, we can create a safe environment in which you can explore more about these issues and yourself in therapy. I utilize person-centered, psychodynamic, and CBT approaches. I believe that we can create awareness through exploration of the past and come to understand ourselves better. We can also increase awareness by focusing on current experiences. We can identify the tools needed to develop coping skills and change thought patterns that do not serve us anymore. As your therapist, I provide genuine empathy and warmth, so that you may feel safe to share and explore things that can make you feel shameful. Feeling emotions don't make you weak, it makes you strong. My goal is to create a non-judgmental space for a diverse community. I am honored to join you on your journey of self-growth and self-love.
